Mission Statement

Sorenson Unity Center’s mission is to serve as a community
resource and gathering place where all cultures are celebrated
and welcomed. The Center enhances lives through
participation in visual and performing arts, education and
community programs aimed at improving mental and physical
well-being.

VOLUNTEER INCOME
TAX ASSISTANCE (VITA)
JANUARY 27, 2012- APRIL 13, 2012
TUESDAYS @ 5 PM – 8 PM & FRIDAYS @ 9 AM – 12 PM
Earn it. Keep it. Save it. Provides
FREE tax preparation services, through VITA, to households
whose income is below $50,000 a year. VITA sites are fully
staffed by volunteers who are trained by the IRS. Each
volunteer works with a tax filer to ensure that all tax
credits to which the tax filer is entitled, including the
Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), are claimed.

This presentation will be hosted by the Student Ambassadors
of the Office of Student Recruitment & High School Services
at the University of Utah. The event is targeting
first-generation college students and their families, more
specifically those students who are undocumented. Families
and students will learn the options first-generation and
undocumented students have when thinking about college. This
event is free and open to anyone interested in higher
education.
